From the clubs creation, Nairn Kayak Club have offered a range of Kayaking disciplines to our members. The main ones that we offer but not limited to are – Sea Kayaking, River Kayaking and Race Kayaking.

Here on a Wednesday night through the summer we practise the paddling and safety skills typically used on river trips. Typically we will run from 6.30/7 until about 8. The location changes weekly so please keep an aye on the facebook page as the details will be published there.
We also run longer weekend trips and these will be published closer to the time of the event.

Since its start in 2011 NKC has been involved in Kayak race training and competition. We organise the River Spey Marathon, and the Spey White Water Race.
A small group of paddlers meets regularly to train and paddle on flat and moving water in K1, river racers and surf ski. This happens in a variety of locations making use of the local conditions. Members compete in events around the country and internationally.
In recent years we have organised a successful ocean race based in Nairn called the Moray Firth Sea Kayak Challenge attracting paddlers from around the country and internationally.This year(2022) the MFSKC will incorporate the first ever Scottish Ocean Racing Championships. It is taking place on July 30th .

During the winter months, the club provides a block of pool sessions which members are welcome to. Please read below to find out more.
The club utilise the Nairn Swimming Pool over the winter months we have a slot on a Thursday Evening between 8 and 9pm. This is open to all members and this year we have introduced a new structure to improve the sessions for our members.
On offer is a beginners block and a newly created rolling clinic – to find out information on how to book on to these then please get in touch.
Alternatively you can bring your own kayak into the pool, but it MUST be clean of all leaves and dirt. Boats that are dirty will be refused access into the pool.
